Top Ten Tuesday: Books Everyone has Read but Me!

TOP TEN TUESDAY:
BOOKS I FEEL EVERYONE HAS READ BUT ME!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because they are particularly fond of lists there at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Don't hate me for some of these books!  I'm warning you now I know a few of you will scoff at the fact that I haven't had any desire to read.

[1] Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - I'm going to use this as my No.1 since I've seen it on several lists and I'm sort of there with them.  I've heard fab things about this book but for whatever reason I'm just not feeling the need to pick this book up.

[2] Harry Potter by J.K Rowling - Wait for it..... Now lets here that collective *GASP*  I have absolutely no desire to read these supposed works of art.  I wish I did.  They look nice sitting on the shelves at the book store but you just won't find me wanting to read this series anytime in the near forever.

[3] Paranormalcy by Kiersten White - I don't even know.  I see it.  Think the covers looks good then I read the back and it just sort of fizzles out for me.

[4] Nightshade by Andrea Cremer - ^ Insert reason for No.3 here ^

[5] Bloodlines by Richelle Mead - I LOVED The Vampire Academy series but I am a firm believer in all good things come to an end, in the book realm, and wish that the characters of VA would have just been allowed to rest.  I don't want my memories of VA tarnished because I never liked Sydney's character.

[6] Awakened by P.C Cast - Again, all good things should come to an end in the book world and I feel completely taken advantage of with this series.  I lasted through book No.6 before I felt like it turned into a ploy just to get the readers to buy more books but still read No.7 and tried to pick up Awakened.  It just isn't happening, the past few books should have been only one and were completely anti-climatic.

[7] Linger by Maggie Stiefvater - After Shiver I just couldn't pick this one up.  *Sigh*  Whata bummer because everyone seems to have just loved this series.

[8] Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - Nope.  Never required to read it and never really cared to pick it up.  Some people truly love the classics and others only read them to say they did and because they like to believe it makes them better than everyone else. I'm neither of those people, lol.

[9] Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen - As much as I wish I had a desire to read this one... I just don't.

[10] Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta -  I'm not sure why I haven't read this one :-/ I just read the synopsis again and am asking myself why, especially when I've heard so many great things about it?

So YES, this is my list as lame as it is.  I know there are several more out there that should be making this list but I'll leave you with these.  How about you, any books you haven't read?  Or you care to plead your case for one of the book son my list?

  1. I was just thinking that I probably should have put Harry Potter on my list too.

  2. I am with you on a lot of these, excluding Harry Potter. (I won't drill you on why you should read these, because I'm sure you've heard it 1,000 times before) I'm DREADING picking up Anna and the French Kiss, because it looks so stupid. But all I've heard is good things about it. I also haven't read Bloodlines, Awakened (if that is the yellow one, lol I can't keep them straight), Linger, Water for Elephants OR Jellicoe Road.

    Where have we been? :)

  3. First off for not being sucked into these book crazes. It's nice to someone who is indifferent or even against them. Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed most of the books on your list but that doesn't mean you have to or should.

  4. We have a few books in common on our lists. YOu have to read Nightshade!!! And I'd give Awakened a chance. I agree, 6 and 7 were kind of boring but I got through them and read awakened and I feel like awakened showed hope for the series to come back.

  6. I agree with the HoN series I've read all the way up to awakened, and I haven't really read that one because it's very soap opera drama filled book.
