I've had a love for books since as long as I can remember. My first memory is sitting on a couch frantically pointing at Mr. Brown Can Moo by Dr. Seuss while my parents read to me. So pretty much since birth I've had a book planted in front of me and my head in the clouds. Being almost 18 years old and loving to read definitely shocks most people. Thanks to modern times, society expects me to go jamming with my groovy posse on weekends while attending psychedelic parties in our far out bell bottoms. (Teenagers talk like that still, right?) If you haven't guessed by now, I'm the farthest thing from an average teenager, and not just because I like to read!

I'm a first year home schooler in my senior year of high school. Yes I was aware that I only had one year left. The main reaction from people is Why in the world would someone decide to home school in their senior year of high school? Well the answer is simple: Bullies. My patience was running low with rude people and I got tired of smacking people upside the head with my hefty books... kidding! Home schooling is the greatest decision I had ever made and have never been happier! It gives me more time to read and blog! Yes!


Since I was a total outcast from age 6 on, I found my friends in books! During recess I'd sit at the edge of the cornfield and read The Boxcar Children until I'd be called back out of my fantasy world and back into my sucky reality. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely adored my blissful book world! Then when I hit fifth grade I was reading at a high school level so I started venturing into the young adult genre and fell in love! I was totally obsessed with the kooky Mia from The Princess Diaries and was drooling all over Micheal! I've always drifted more towards the YA books with star crossed lovers, like Simone Elkeles' Perfect Chemistry series or Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers, but I also love dystopians like Delirium (a.k.a my obsession!)


So you're probably wondering how I came across the wickedly awesome YA Book Blog-o-sphere, right? Well one day I was searching for a review of Evermore by Alyson Noel and came across Justine's blog, a bookful of thoughts. I immediately fell in love with her blog and made it a daily habit to go on and check what was posted. Then I expanded my love of blogs and made an account for following only, because I was so afraid to get my opinions out in the internet world. Luckily in September I was getting tired of being so quiet and started to actually post on my blog! Since then I haven't looked back and I'm loving every minute of it!

Reading- How it became a LOV3 of mine...

So we start at the days following up to my first day of kindergarten. My older brother hates reading always has and at this point in my life I am easy to scare. He tells me that in kindergarten you have to read, making it sound like the worst thing in the world. So as a scared kid I walk into school. Turns out I am an advanced reader that can read like no other five year old. Thus my love of reading was born. 

At the age of 13 I had another flare of passion for reading. I give my thanks to my science teacher. I know what you are thinking but she is a book lover and we really connected when it came to books. She would recommend books and I would devour them. This is also the year I read the whole Harry Potter series (time like five), the Chronicles of Narnia, and the Sisterhood of the traveling pants. I was on fire during this time as far as reading goes. 

When high school started I was hit with a huge work load and until my sophomore year my book reading dwindled... this is when I met Twilight. Yes Twilight opened my eyes further to the world of YA books. I thank it for that. So I was again little miss reader. 

My junior year brought another readers moment. I had this amazing history teacher who was THE teacher. Everyday he went around and asked everyone what they liked to do in their free time or any hobbies. I said reading (I mean I was totally consumed by books). Some kid scoffed. I will NEVER forget what my teacher said to him. He looked the kid in the eye and said "You laugh now but one day she will be your boss". 

So I thank my evil older brother who teased me about kindergarten, Mrs.Kwant the teacher who fed me books and asked my opinion, Twilight (so not what I set out to do...seriously! Since the hype I have ignored it) which helped me find my reading groove,  and Mr.Willard who made me feel like being a reader was a good thing. Now at 19 I am a book blogger... my life has brought me to this point, we will see where it goes next :P

I believe in the pay it forward method, so I am now passing my love of reading on. My current project? My little brother, Dallin. I saw the fire in his eyes, and I knew he had the makings of an epic book nerd. So I gave him Harry Potter and he gobbled the series in no time. From there it was easy to nudge books his way. Slowly I realized that he would be the perfect team mate for my blog. So I signed him on. He hasn't done very many posts but he is getting on it. 

Here is to spreading the LOV3 of reading...

Meet Kreag, he helps make up the upcoming generation of Book Bloggers at only 14 and is the face behind I Devour Books.


While Kreag started his blog in 2010 his posting has definitely picked up for 2011 and he offers great book related conversation over at the Book Blogger Chat.


Kreag is on his local Library Teen Council.  Pretty Awesome, eh?


I had the opportunity to ask Kreag a little about himself via email and this is what he had to tell me.

What book genre do you find yourself drawn to? I love to read paranormal romance and dystopian books!


Do you like to write, or just read it? I LOVE to write!  It is one of my favorite things to do!  I like to write paranormal romance, as that is one of my favorite genres, and recently, I got a really good dystopian idea, so maybe some of that too.  I hope that one day I will be a New York Times Bestselling author!  Though it probably won't happen, I have hope!

Tell us a bit about yourself? Well, I am 14.  I'm a boy.  I love to read and write.  I hate watching t.v. becuase I find it pretty pointless in my opinion.  I think I havea book buying addiction, as I HAVE to buy a book every week, or I go insane!  Well, thats what I tell my parents to get them to bring me to the store.  But still, I have a problem buying books, as I don't really have room for them!  I need a bookcase!  I go to high school, though some other people might call it another name (it starts with H and ends with L!)  I do extremely well in school and I do actually enjoy it, though the people there can be kind of... really bad.  

Meet Patrick, the face behind IRandomBlogger, if he were a color he'd be blue and if he were a shape he'd be a square.  He says because all sides are equal.  I don't know if I believe him .


I, too, met Patrick through B.B.C.  While Patrick may be only 15 I don't believe him when he says he lives on twitter.  Really, he said that.  

Like Kreag, I sent over an email to Patrick asking him about himself and here are a few of the things he had to say.

Do you happen to have a favorite quote? ~ What appears to be the end may really be a new beginning. ~ Unknown

Who are your favorite Authors, I know you must have a few? My favorite authors are John Green, Holly Black, and Stephen King.

Would you like to tell everyone a bit about yourself? I am your average high-schooler. All A’s have a good bunch of friends. But I also have and addiction to books which can not be cured even if I tried.

If you could meet any author, who would it be? I would die if I got to meet Cassandra Clare. She is such a great author and I’m addicted to her books. She is also a very awesome person to chat with.
