A Season of Eden brings to life a completely sexy and intimate yet extremely touchy and quite illegal subject, an intense relationship between a student and her teacher.
I won't lie, our main character, Eden isn't exactly the most innocent of girls. She's catty, snobby, and the definition of a high school mean girl who believes she is entitled to anything and everything she wants purely because of her Daddy's money and her good looks. The thing about Eden which is extremely warming is the fact that she grows into a young woman who realizes her wrongs, that she is entitled to nothing and must work for what she wants including the attention and trust of the guy she loves. Eden's transformation was really outstanding and realistic.
James Christian, Eden's music teacher is the person who can be credited for Eden's fall and regrowth. He is a young and attractive teacher who has many admirers, but only one was screwed up and passionate enough to catch his attention. It is James' ability to take Eden down a few notches, seductively keep her at an arm's length, and his style which makes James so attractive from a reader's point of view. He's hard working, has morals, and has his own dilemmas which add to Eden's story.
The chemistry between Eden and James is unmistakable, and others see it too. Unfortunately, for them both, Eden is just a student who needs some self discovery before James can open his heart completely to her. Her issues don't all stem from a prima donna complex but from a broken home life and living in a community of broken homes, superficiality, and fair-weathered friends.
Seductive, hopeful and flavorful. A Season of Eden is a perfect way to take a step into sensitive territory and enjoy a good coming of age, alluring romance.
