It's Follow Friday!
This is my eighth Follow My Blog Friday, a weekly meme hosted by hosted by Parajunkee's View! And my Blog Title keeps getting more crowded :-)
My reading suggestion this week is if you have read Hush, Hush and loved that to pick up Crescendo on October 19th... or even check your book stores early, this book has been popping up early :-) Click on the book title to read my 4 Star Review!
This is my ninth Book Blogger Hop, a weekly meme hosted by Crazy-For-Books .
Book Blogger Hop Question:
When you read a book that you just can't get into, do you stick it out and keep reading or move to your next title?
Wow. So, I have had only a handful of books I have had to push aside because no matter how hard I tried, or how many attempts I just literally hated the story, the characters, the whole book as a whole. I know that sounds bad, but not everything is for everyone, right? I am pretty open about stuff, although I have certain ways I definitely gravitate too, but I can usually push through. One example was Stephenie Meyer's THE HOST. WOW, I died for the first 200 or so pages then I fell in love with it. I held on pretty good there and was surprised at the end.
So to sum it up, I will usually give it a go and if I can't do it I'll set it aside until I am in a mood for something of that genre and try again. If I give it 50 pages, then possibly 100 (depending on the size) and nothing is reaching out at me and nothing is processing then I'll eventually have to push it aside.
I'm happy only a handful of books have made it into this category for me :-)
So, what about you?

What is new this week?
Soon I'll be starting my new feature Flip-It-Forward and Flippin' Backwards soon. Check it out in my Features section.
I made my first trip to one of the county libraries for the first time since living in this state. Overall, it was my first trip to a library in YEARS. Let's just say it isn't exactly how I remember libraries being but I'll leave that for a post I am working on. I did pick up a few books there that I'll be showing in my upcoming On Fab's Doorstep. One of the books can be found in my Waiting On Pay Day post.
I posted two reviews:
Infinite Days + Crescendo
I posted an my FIRST Author Interview.

New follower too!
That's exactly why I have a hard time stopping in the middle of a book! Sometimes it will turn out to be so much better than you think! Of course, I could just be OCD :o)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
I tell my students to read the first 150 pages or first 4 chapters (whichever comes last). (Only for their free choice books, they can't do that with their teacher assigned books.) Award committee members will say if a book doesn't grab them by the first 150 pages, then they put it down.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some of the books you had to push aside forever?
ReplyDeleteI tend to put books down and come back to them days, months, years later, because I know sometimes it's just me not feeling like reading that kind of book.
